Can you think faster ? :)

Can you think faster?

Do you believe that you could do better if we could really think faster? And in what kind of situations?

Even as you answer that (and I submit that the answer is a resounding yes), lets ask the question if the speed of thought is actually something that we are hard wired for, or could it be improved? Are we pre-destined to think at the same natural speed, or are there ways for us to speed up the process of thinking.

Interestingly, what about the speed of thought within a team, or even a an organization?  What does that even mean, you ask. Do organizations even think?  Let me suggest that they do... In the same way that an individual thinks.  The only difference is that the organizational thought happens in a collective brain, whereas for an individual,  it happens within one.  Another similarity, and one with far reaching consequences, is that, as in an individual, so in an organization, the precursor to any responsible action is thought.

If, lets suppose, that we could have an organization think faster, we could then have the organization move to responsible action faster. And stay ahead of its competition, not just in its measurable speed of action, but also in the quality of the action.

So - for any given organization, the how long does it take to think... can we measure it?

And what can be done to make it think faster?

As it turns out, lots actually.  Keep watching this space as I spill the beans.
